Roundup Lawsuit Loans FAQ
Post-settlement funding, also known as Roundup lawsuit loans, is a type of cash advance that can give Roundup claimants from $1,000 up to 50% of their net settlement award immediately. This money can be used for past-due bills, monthly expenses, or anything else you need.
Experts have estimated that an average plaintiff who contracted non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) or other cancers may receive from $10,000 to $250,000 for their injuries. One firm reported that the estimated average settlement will be about $160,000 per plaintiff.
On June 24, 2020, Bayer AG committed $8.8 billion to $9.6 billion to resolve approximately 125,000 lawsuits and claims by Roundup users. The resolved claims include all plaintiff law firms leading Roundup Produ💰cts Liability Litigation (MDL No. 2741), the bellwether cases in California, as well as the firms representing roughly 95% of Roundup cases currently slated for trial.
TriMark Legal Funding prides itself on offering the lowest, most competitive rates in the legal funding industry, and we back that up with capped rates and our “Lowest Rate Guarantee”.
TriMark will match or beat any competitor’s contract rate.
Everyone’s finances, income, and expenditures are different. You are the only one who can make the decision whether legal funding is the right solution for you.
No. To qualify for any type of pre-settlement lawsuit funding or post-settlement funding, plaintiffs must be represented by a contingent fee law firm or attorney.
All plaintiffs in the Roundup Settlement [Roundup Products Liability Litigation (MDL No. 2741)] are represented by contingent-fee law firms.
You keep the money and owe nothing.
As long as your case will support it, yes. On settled cases like the Roundup cancer lawsuit, TriMark Legal Funding can advance up to 50% of an anticipated net settlement award. As long as the total balance does not exceed 50%, multiple lawsuit loans are not a problem.
Everyone’s individual settlement amounts are different. They are determined by the number of points each plaintiff is awarded. While TriMark Legal Funding does not have a maximum dollar limit, we can fund up to 50% of a plaintiff’s net settlement amount.
Roundup lawsuit loans are available in most states, with only a few exceptions.
Prohibited
State consumer protection laws prohibit any type of legal funding in AR, DC, KY, MD, and WV, so residents of those states are, unfortunately, ineligible for Roundup lawsuit post-settlement funding.
Minimum Funding Amounts Required
To remain in compliance with some states’ consumer protection laws, minimum funding amounts are required.
– Colorado: The minimum funding amount is $75,000
– North Carolina: The minimum funding amount is $25,000
For residents of these states, TriMark Legal Funding can consider any request as long as the funded amount satisfies the minimum funding requirement and does not exceed 50% of the net settlement award.
For more state-specific information, visit the areas we serve.
It’s not a problem and we handle everything. The previous advance amount is simply paid off and rolled into the new loan, but don’t worry; it won’t cost you anything out-of-pocket.
TriMark will arrange for the prior advance to be bought and rolled into your new lawsuit loan. At the same time your advance is funded, a check is sent to the previous legal funding company and that advance is paid off in full.
Roundup Settlement Checks In 2021?
The good news; Bayer finally agreed to settle the Monsanto Roundup cancer lawsuit for nearly $10 billion.
Bayer still sells Roundup weed killer and still earns about $6 BILLION per year from it, and still doesn’t want a label warning people that Roundup causes cancer. So it is a foregone conclusion that many more people will develop Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (NHL).
When they do, they will file more Roundup lawsuits and Bayer knows this.
Roundup Settlement Is Ongoing
In May 2021, Judge Vince Chabbria also foresaw this eventuality and was “tentatively inclined” to reject Bayer’s Roundup settlement offer as a result.
He cited how Bayer unfairly and inadequately proposed to handle all future Roundup cancer claims. Bayer withdrew the offer and is now reworking it.
In late July, Bayer announced two possible paths to close the Roundup litigation.

What Is Lawsuit Funding?
An estimated 125,000 lawsuits have been filed in the United States over the use of Monsanto Roundup (glyphosate), claiming the weedkiller contributed to customers’ cancers.
Roundup was first introduced in 1973. In 2013 – 40 years later – researchers published the first study suggesting Glyphosate (the active ingredient in Roundup Weed and Grass killer) causes cancer.
In March 2015, the World Health Organization took it a step further and announced that it was adding Glyphosate to its list of possible human carcinogens.
The litigation began against Monsanto for its Roundup weed killer in 2015. Bayer AG inherited the headache when it acquired Monsanto in 2018.

Glyphosate has been linked to cancer in humans, with thousands of suits pointing to Roundup as a cause for non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
The first cases started around five years ago, which means most plaintiffs have long been waiting for resolution.
Behind the litigation are significant losses, such as jobs and homes. Cancer patients and their families have been dealing with the emotional and financial blow of battling the illness for up to half a decade.
If you have a pending Roundup claim, you’ve probably been pushed into a corner by this contentious legal fight.
As you seek justice in a tough situation, settlement funding can help. This fast and risk-free, non-recourse cash advance can cover the costs of consultation, treatment, and supportive care. It can bail you out of debt while your payout is put on hold.
Lawsuit financing is safe because it does not involve monthly repayments. You only pay us when you recover.
Monsanto Roundup Cancer Lawsuit Loans
Bayer faced tens of thousands of claims of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in the Roundup cancer lawsuit. The Roundup lawsuit settlement amounts to $10 billion.

While trials, negotiations, and a potential global settlement are underway, plaintiffs diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) have already faced an undue economic burden. However, the outcomes of recent lawsuits have been very promising.
If you’re a diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) patient, chemoimmunotherapy sessions make up the bulk of your expenses. Inpatient and outpatient services can also rack up bills quickly.
A 1999-2000 study showed that patients with aggressive NHL spent $5871, on average, on monthly treatments. Those with indolent NHL recorded average monthly costs of $3,833.
In 2020, the cost of cancer care in the U.S. is estimated to increase by 27% due to the changing population. More expensive targeted treatments could be the norm, which could then deepen many patients’ financial struggle.
Who Is Monsanto?
Established in 1901, Monsanto has transformed from a chemical company into a corporation focused on agricultural biotechnology. In June 2018, Bayer AG bought it as a part of its crop science division.
Monsanto’s popular lines include crop seeds, row crops, and glyphosate herbicides, among which is the Roundup brand.
Roundup, one of its top revenue drivers, has remained useful to farmers. First, they use Roundup Ready to raise crops that are immune to the chemicals found in Roundup. Then, they simply blasted their fields with the weedkiller, and poof, the weeds are dead.
But according to reports, while Roundup products make the lives of agricultural workers easier, they have dangerous, potentially fatal side effects.
What Is the Monsanto Roundup Lawsuit Controversy?
Roundup is the brand of a glyphosate-based herbicide produced by Monsanto. Aside from the active ingredient, its formulation includes surfactants. It was marketed in 1973 after Monsanto developed and patented the glyphosate molecule. The patent expired in 2000.
After the IARC reported on the link between glyphosate and cancer in humans in 2015, thousands of plaintiffs filed state and federal lawsuits over Roundup. They claimed their cancer had been caused by exposure to the herbicide.
What Is Glyphosate?
Glyphosate is one of the most common herbicides in the world. In the United States, it is used by gardeners, farmers, and agricultural workers. It is so popular that Roundup, which contains glyphosate, continues to bring in a tenth of Monsanto’s revenue.
Glyphosate can be sprayed on GMO and non-GMO crops, helping them grow and ripen while getting weeds out of the way. This means some food may have it at above-average levels. Oat-based products are one example, with breakfast staples like Quaker Old Fashioned Oats and Cheerios showing up in the news.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) maintains that glyphosate has low toxicity for people.
Despite the controversy surrounding this chemical and the Monsanto brand, American farmers and longtime customers are not deterred and continue using Roundup.
Link Between Glyphosate and Cancer
An IARC report states that glyphosate is “probably carcinogenic to humans”. On the other hand, both the EPA and Bayer claim there is no meaningful connection between glyphosate and cancer.
Yet, EPA may be wrong about its dangers. The risk may increase if the herbicide is used the wrong way and the exposure is high.
In particular, the exposure of farmers, groundskeepers, gardeners, and the like to the chemical increases the risk of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
Link Between Roundup and Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma
Plaintiffs of Roundup cases claim their exposure to Roundup directly caused their blood cancer.
In the lawsuits, they cite Monsanto’s failure to inform them about the dangers of using the product, particularly the development of NHL.
Roundup contains 41% glyphosate, which is classified as “probably carcinogenic” to humans by the IARC. It belongs to Group 2A, which includes red meat, shiftwork that disrupts circadian cycles, exposure to petroleum refining at work, and frying at high temperatures.
Has Anyone Won a Roundup Suit or Received a Settlement from Monsanto?
Bayer, Monsanto’s owner, has not agreed to any settlement as of June 15, 2020. However, reports say the German firm plans to settle a significant number of claims and will announce the details at the end of June.
Meanwhile, Monsanto has already lost three huge verdicts, partially causing its stock value to plummet.
- School groundskeeper Dewayne Anthony Lee Johnson was awarded nearly $80 million in damages in August 2018. Mr. Johnson used to spray Roundup up to 30 times every summer. With terminal cancer (also NHL), he fears he may not live long enough to get the money.
- Edwin Hardeman, 70, won an $80 million verdict in March 2019. For 26 years, Mr. Hardeman used Roundup to control weeds and poison oak on his property. He was diagnosed with NHL in 2015.
- Gardeners Alva and Alberta Pilliod won $2.05 billion in a suit in May 2019. Both have NHL and used Monsanto’s Roundup spray to clear their driveway of weeds for two decades.
What Is the Future for Monsanto Roundup Plaintiffs?
At the end of June, Monsanto’s parent company Bayer AG will announce its plans to settle a substantial portion of its U.S. lawsuits for $10 billion. This considerable move has involved high-stakes mediation talks, according to Bloomberg.
While no details have been disclosed, the deals are estimated to cover 50,000 to 85,000 claims. Plaintiffs can receive a few thousands to a few millions each in settlement payout.
Avoiding jury trials is a priority for Bayer, which inherited the costly legal battle when it acquired Monsanto in 2018. The company seeks to improve Monsanto’s share price, which has declined throughout the lifetime of these suits and three U.S. court trials.
